Item Details A unique Early 19th C. English Provincial Carved Pine Breakfront, with exceptional molded Neoclassical elements. A removable pediment crest over a facade with molded bellflower and floral urns. The one piece cabinet has two sectional glass doors, with an interior of ivory painted wood shelves, flanked by two paneled doors with molded Neoclassical urns and wreaths with fixed shelf painted interiors. The lower half has four doors with paterea and bell flower wreath elements, the center with a single fixed shelf interior. Key included. Notes: Use of Composition Adam Style elements were the choice adornment during the late George III period on chimney pieces, mirrors and console tables. A larger case piece as this using these elements indicates that this breakfront most likely was originally painted though its current wax finish gives it a great provincial presence. Item Details A ca. 1810 English two part mahogany secretary, the top section with a carved swan's neck pediment, a large mirrored single center door with carvings from the solid of acanthus leaves and flowers, that opens to an interior with three removable fixed shelves, flanked by two mirrored panels. The bottom section has slant lid that opens to a spectacular carved document drawer and pigeon hole interior featuring a center mirrored front prospect door, all on a bracket base. Chinese Chippendale influence. ' 96”H x 48”W x 23”D. Rare early 19th century working automaton sewing box with hidden compartments for necessaries and sewing implements. Original handmade clockwork inside which operates a working windmill. Ormolu mounts and neoclassical temple structure. Stairs pullout / pull-out to reveal compartments as do the tiny ormolu cupid niches. Mirrored inside to give a feeling of infinity. Glazed glass pained windows, a middle tray for thread. Small doors open for storage or novelty. Obviously this was made by a learned person for a betrothal gift or for a gift of friendship. Flag on top finial is punch dated "1803". Case is of rosewood and African mahogany. Alabaster columns. Ormolu mounts.Details

Magnificent Late 19th Century Oyster Walnut Partners Desk. Beautiful matched and patterned oyster walnut veneer. Two pedestals with graduated drawers on one side and cabinets on the opposite. Top with drawers on both sides. Mellow patina and beautiful color. Original leather also with wonderful patina. Please note the detail in the oyster walnut on the sides of the bases. Top disassembles from bottom cabinets for easy transport. Hand dovetailed throughout and retains original brasses. Provenance: A Connecticut Collector.
